A business executive with nearly three decades of professional experience, Teresa Bailey-Weirich serves as senior director of market planning for a Fortune 500 company. With a background in retail and commercial real estate management, Teresa Bailey-Weirich maintains affiliations with groups such as the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
In addition to conducting programs that encourage high standards among shopping center professionals, ICSC oversees a charitable foundation that pursues a variety of community outreach initiatives. Since 2007, the ICSC Foundation has maintained a scholarship program that helps families of ICSC members pay for college.
Each year, the foundation awards scholarships to two individuals who are currently pursuing or planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree program. To qualify, applicants must be a child of an established ICSC member in the United States or Canada. Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s history of community service, academic achievement, and leadership.
Each scholarship recipient qualifies to receive $2,000 a year for a two-year program or $2,500 a year for a four-year program, but he or she must recertify for the award annually. Since it was founded, the ICSC Foundation has handed out over $1.4 million in scholarships to nearly 500 students.
